สืบเนื่องจากจากโพสท์ก่อนหน้า (อยู่ๆ โซเฟียพูดขึ้นมา ม่าม๊า “คองเง็น” (kongen = the king) “ไทยคองเง็น” ม่าม๊า พูด “ใช่ลูกใช่ ถูกต้อง” ในใจนึกเท่าที่จำได้ไม่เคยพร่ำสอนลูก หรือเปิดรูปในหลวงให้ดูว่าพระองค์ท่านเป็นใคร ทีวีไทยก็ไม่ค่อยดู โซเฟียรู้ได้ไงเนีย ประจวบเหมาะดิฉันก็เปลี่ยนไปดูข่าวช่องเอ็นอาร์โคเอ็น (NRK1) เผอิญเป็นข่าวเกี่ยวกับกษัตริย์ของนอร์เวย์ ดิฉันปากไวค่ะ ถามลูก “โซเฟียและนี่ใครหละ เว็มอาร์เด๊ะ Hvem er det?” โซเฟียตอบ “ อาร์ เวท อิกเกะ (หนูไม่รู้)” ในใจคิดแต่ไม่บอกว่าคิดอะไร*)
ดิฉันอ่านที่ตัวเองเขียนแล้วมีความรู้สึกว่ามันเปิดให้คิดในทางลบได้ เลยต้องมาเขียนเพิ่มต่อว่า *ดิฉันคิดว่าน่าจะเคยบอกสอนเรื่องคองเง็นของไทยให้โซเฟียฟังแต่น้อยมากจนจำไม่ได้ เราไปเมืองไทยกันทุกปี พระฉายาลักษณ์ของพระองค์ตั้งเป็นสง่าทุกมุมเมืองในประเทศไทย ส่วนที่นอร์เวย์กับตรงกันข้าม อีกทั้งดิฉันเองก็ไม่เคยบอกสอนหรือให้ดูรูปของกษัตริย์นอร์เวย์เลย ก็เป็นธรรมดาที่โซเฟียจะรู้จักแต่คองเง็นของไทยอย่างเดียว แต่มีนัยสำคัญคือตัวดิฉันเองซึ่งเป็นคนไทย รักเมืองไทย รักในหลง ก็รู้สึกภูมิใจ และปลื้มลูกสาวมากค่ะ

A vow his majesty gave on the day he succeeded the throne and lived by it ever since.

“เราจะครองแผ่นดินโดยธรรมเพื่อประโยชน์สุขแห่งมหาชนชาวสยาม”
“I will reign with righteousness for the benefit and happiness of the Siamese people”

A developing king
His majesty created thousands of royal project for the future benefit of the Thai people. Traveling through all terrain, his majesty had been to every corner of his kingdom see the hardship of his people by himself. Not only that his majesty leads us to the 21st century, he provides us with virtues to live by. He showed it to is, by living the virtue himself. Everything his majesty does. Set an example for us to follow. An example of a great son… He taught us to be humble.

“การมีเสรีภาพนั้นเป็นของที่ดีอย่างยิ่ง แต่เมื่อจะใช้จำเป็นจะต้องใช้ด้วยความระมัดระวังและความรับผิดชอบ มิให้ล่วงละเมิดเสรีภาพของผู้อื่นที่เขามีอยู่เท่าเทียมกัน ทั้งมิให้กระทบกระเทือนถึงสวัสดิภาพ และความปกติสุขของส่วนรวมด้วย”
“Freedom is a great thing, but when you use it, you must use it carefully and with responsibility. Without violating the freedom of other individual, and must not affect the happiness and well being of the society”

Many still wonder…Why do we still kneel and bow before the king? One reason being that it is our culture. But culture is not the only reason why we still kneel and bow before our king… It is the love and the highest respect that we give to him, for what he did for us, we could never fully repay.

It I may add… It is our life’s greatest honour to kneel before our king. I do not feel that culture makes me kneel and bow for him. I am sure all Thais won’t feel that way too. It is our willingness to give his majesty our deepest respect. For we are willing to do whatever it takes to protect him.

Our culture is not backward…
Our culture is rich.

I will stand and protect the dignity of our king. I am sure you will stand with me.
